is humility hard to find these days?

people are not humble any longer, why?

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

bahhhh, I am the most humble person I know. I have not met a single person who knows humility like I do. what are you on about?

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

No…it can be found at Walmart on aisle #9, right next to … :halo:

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

most of my friends are people with amazing qualities which should give them every right to be proud, yet they are not. they are very humble, beautiful people so its not hard to find humility as far as i am concerned.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

LOL

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

well, i find humbleness somehow humiliating for those not as blessed...pretending to be weak when you're not
ugly when you're not
or poor when you're not, is kinda offending for those who really are!!
i think honesty is much important!

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

yeah especially if you are in places like london or newyork where people are idiots.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

that is low balling.
you're right in that sense.
people pretending are vicious.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

hey,

not all ny people are bad.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

HUMILITY is my best quality..........Such an Oxymoron....:CareBear:

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

Humility is rare because people take advatage of others. Humility means forgiveness, no arrogance and being down to earth. These days people will give only crap to who are humble.

…and then alram goes off and Fraudz wakes up :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

Humility is all around us, but by its own definition it is hard to notice or pick up on.

More over we do not like to probe into the Poor Peoples lives, And there are a lot of poor people, we just have to start noticing. and it may bring our own humility to surface...

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

i find both kind of people around.I am little bit humble myself too.But west culture is different and it teaches u arrogance and straight forwardness.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

well being in Pakistan...most of the ppl i have met are humble.... :) sumtimes it depends on urself too how u percieve others...like if sum1 is really nice to me n generous but am not in da rite mood i mite say he/she is soooo irritatin or sumfin like tht but i disagree abt "people are not humble any longer, why?"and even ppl frm the west workin over here r very humble although same nations seem a bit arrogant i wont like to take their names but i have met ppl frm UK..norway or france ere werent tht bad....specially sum britishers :)

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

I understand your point but there is a difference between dishonesty and humility. The above-mentioned examples fall more in the 'dishonesty' category rather than the 'humility' category.

For example, a dishonest person would be someone who is rich but pretends to be an unfortunate penniless individual, whereas, a humble person would accept and be thankful for the wealth he has but would not deliberately boast about his/her affluence.

The existence of modesty and gratitude is what seems to set apart a humble person from a dishonest one.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

thanks all, nice perspectives.

i would like to add, that some people are by nature humble, yet firm in their resolve to set a genuine example of right attitude and behaviors.
their actions' nobility speaks through the transparent quality of their intentions & good will behaviors. & such people do not expect fame by way of being known as humble. they do a good deed and move on, without saying anything.
charities given without a name, is an act of humbleness.
being empathic, honest & polite is humbleness.
being clear in one's intentions and plans without hurting someone else is also humbleness.
that sort of humility does not attract doubt or a thought that the obvious humility was a pretense show to gain anything in return.
its benefit lies in it being silent and self-evident.

Re: is humility hard to find these days?

:Dthank you for your view...i have heard so many people complaining of people like me who opnely admit their qualities and won't pretend like others to be less of what they are while those so called humble people, they flaunt all their "good" deeds...
