Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

You missed the A. Without it, it doesn't sound right. :)

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

Update - Hum(A) shares up 1.3%. Appears folks are warming up to new management.

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

I thought, as part of the hiring process, Southie was forbidden from bringing his financial nuggets here?!?! At least that's the impression I got from the welcome thread.

Breach of contract :D

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

There was an escape clause. Some Contrarisns insisted no financial discussions take place. As part of the agreement they were supposed to participate. Absent that the contract was null and void.

Hum(a) was down 2.5% today. It appears training costs for new staff have sky-rocketed.

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

HUM(A) up 1.5% today. Word is that analyst had underestimated goodwill generated by new leadership.

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

The futures for Huma rose steeply. Institutional investors are on board wrt assigning higher value for intangibles such as strong management.

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

As our faithful readers know, this past week was volatile. (For some reason, volatility is used only wrt a down market. Several readers asked us why HUM(A) held up rather well. Of coourse that was to be expected.

In a recent Conference call HUM(A) assured investors and research community that no accounting changes will be made in spite of discount rate for future pension obligations being increased. While that drove away speculators, long term investors voted with their wallets by supporting the shares the past week.

Some in the research community opined HUM(A) does not mix it up with the rank and file - the investors. To which we ask " which CEO does?"

Re: Is HUMA undervalued?

Right on cue AT&T announced they are issuing 9.5 billion dollars of preferred equity in AT&T mobile to make up a nearly $10 billion shortfall in thei $100 billion pension obligations. The stocks were valued at $25 per share and 300 million shares were issued, corresponding to a face value of $8 billion. (300*1E6*25= 8E9).

How 8 billion dollars were valued at 9.5B remains a mystery - something abt a beaurocratic org blessing the higher valuation with Ganga Jal.

This puts the conservative accounting at HUM(A) in perspective. When contacted for reaction, reporters were informed HUM(A) was working on running the company, and had no comments on how others run theirs.
