I know someone whose started a business a year ago but is making no money or very very little. He hardly has any money. Nothing for wages or personal allowance anyway.

So is he.entitled to anything? Income support? He has a business he’s.started so not sure if applies to him?

Uk info pleased thanks

Re: is he entitled to any benefits

Yes you can get child tax credit if you have children. And if no children then tax credit if your income is under a certain amount. I think it is if your income is under £18,000.

Here is a link which has a questionaire to see if you are eligible for it.

And this is a link for how much you would get if you are eligible.
Tax Credits: Can I Claim?

The above links are for tax credit. If he has children then you will need te link for child tax credit.

Re: is he entitled to any benefits

I’m sure the job centre would ask why he’s running the business if it’s not making him any money. Income support is for those out of work or actively seeking work.

If he has children then tax credits are an option.

Re: is he entitled to any benefits

hmmmm ok what i meant was hes earnings are literally nothing. if he makes anything its less than minimum wage. i can ge a figure il ask him.

no children.

working tax credit??

Re: is he entitled to any benefits

Working tax credits are an option but they are not as much that you can solely survive on them

Re: is he entitled to any benefits

Working tax credit since he has no children. It isn’t much but it’s better than nothing. Tell him to look at the links, as only he knows what income he is getting n hours he works etc etc.

Re: is he entitled to any benefits

Or he could get a second job.
