is hair loss such a problem?

I have lost some hair. well a lot of them. I have heard comments from a lot of people here in pakistan that i should get hair transplants. i feel fine without that. in fact when i shave my head off, i feel like i look better than when i have hair.
why is hair loss considered such a big problem here in pakistan?

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

^ this concern could be the answer of another concern you posted earlier. Think about it.

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

The same reason fat chics are considered a problem in pakistan...

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

I think hair loss is a bigger problem for the loser-of-hair than it is for anyone else. Actually, balding men - the ones who don't make pathetic attempts to hide it - are actually quite attractive. Yul Brynner, Sean Connery yeah? Those pathetic comb-overs ala Donald trump are really pathetic. My brother tried the comb-overs for a while and he looked old. Finally, his wife cut it all short - marine short. THen he moved on to shaving his whole head. And now, he looks younger and so much more attractive.

Nothing wrong with short/thinning hair or even total baldness. It can give a guy that distinguished gentleman look as long as its handled properly.

The shaved head look can look good, and I agree with Mo3 that a lot of the ways that guys try to cover up balding look really horrible (comb-over, I've also seen uncles wearing really horrible toupees that make them look like a rat is sitting on their head.)

However, I do think that if you are going bald it's even more important to keep up the rest of your appearance----work out, keep your body in shape, and dress with style and dignity. Once you get the bald head and tidd at the same time it's clearly downhill from there. :p

well i wonder if this thread might have gone to health and fitness forum!

:p

yes this problm is in men as compared to women to a large extent. new fashions and chemically rich shampoos destroy the hair and damage them.

thats why this problm is faced but it can also happen due to genetic diseases also.

:)

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

no i dont think it is my fiance shaves his head as he's losing hair and i love it

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

It’s the ONE THING that men have to deal with… compared to all the trials and tribulations women have… and they still complain… wimps :snooty:

Just do what you feel comfotable with. If you like your hair shaved off, then stick with it, regardless of what people think…life is too short to worry about what others think

i know a handful of people that got hair plugs, thinking that it will enhance their chances with the ladies…

It didn’t. :chai:

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

hair loss in men is more common and acceptable. they look more handsome!

However, women have hair loss problems too - esp. after child birth.

I was freaking out for balding spots after my kids were born. I thought I had some type of cancer.

..but I went to the dermatologist (apparently they are the ones who "know" about these issues).. but they said they don't see the problem. I mean I was pointing out the balding spots and STILL they could not see it! I HATED THEM -I WENT TO ABOUT 3 different ones.

oh and one doctor was a male - and he said look at me - he was TOTALLY BALD - compared to him I had enough hair... =( sad situation humor =( it was not funny.

anyways, as time went by I started getting better and it has "filled" up the bald spots. Thank GOD!

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

if Bruce Willis can pull it off, so can you. :silly:

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

bald and fit is fine.

bald and fat.. buy a rug.

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

don't take this super seriously but for paki's the only purpose of marriage is kids so they probably think your baldness has some correlation to your ability to have kids......weird i know...but pakis are weird

the latest comment was from a girl who has more hair on her face than me.. she needs a mach3 razor. cant people see in the mirror first?

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

^LOL

you are starting a troll

why don’t you ask the girl to “donate” her hair, for hair weave! :omg:

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

Jaanaan,

Desi beauty focuses sooooooooo much on hair.........and of course fair skin, lol. Look at the commercials. It's all about "ghanay siyah kaalay baal" (thick jet black hair).

But confidence is even more attractive regardless of hair. Without confidence, it's hard to pull things off. And with confidence, you can pull off many things. It's all about how you carry yourself.

It's your body, your scalp, your money. And if you don't feel like spending your hard-earned money and putting yourself through a hair transplant........then DON'T. People will always have opinions no matter what you do.

And there are some people who have completely messed up the hair transplant. Examples: Salman Khan did not look good with his over-the top hair transplant a few years back. Singer/actor Himesh Reshammiya went so overboard with his hair transplant that it looks so fake (wig-like).....and femminine. If you decided to get it done, do it well. If you don't want it....embrace the bald look with style!

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

A bald man is more attractive than a man with hair transplants, that's all I'll say to you dude.

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

hairs add to the looks

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

im waiting for the day my hubby shaves his hair off... its just such a sexy look

Re: is hair loss such a problem?

we had a teacher in high school who was losing his hair and used to look so old and weird. then one day he shaved his head and he looked much younger and sexier. all you need is confidence. if you think that you look good, so will other people around you.

oh and people will for sure make tinda jokes at Pakistan, but sooner or later they'll get over it ... so just embrace your hair (or lack of it in your case) and be confident!
