One of my Turk friends who don't have much knowledge of Islam but is a very sincere and humble person. He is very honest to his inner voice even if that means going away from his worldly benefits (Masha'Allah). I felt this because at times when I used to mention a hadith in front of him, tears used to roll down his eyes as he was lost in his deep thoughts. It seemed to me that his heart has the ability to immediately recognize the truth, because a lot of times those hadiths were criticizing his current lifestyle but he didn't reject them.
He once kept a beard only to see how does it look on his face without having any knowledge of Islamic perspective about it.
After keeping beard he once came to me and asked me, " Is there any specific mentioning of beard in Islam ?"
I asked in return, " Why do you ask ?"
He said, *" I don't know, every time I perform ablution, when my beard gets wet by water and while offering namaz water is dripping from it, I feel an amazing sense of spiritual satisfaction and pleasure in my heart which I can't explain".

I told him to search for the authentic sources and make up his mind after reading and listening to everyone, but keep praying to Allah (s.w.t) for guidance.
