As my religion teacher was giving the lecture on how and why Jesus (Huzrat Essa) spend his whole life like the way he did and how he wanted to bring change to the jewish religion … the main change being that god loves all and is very forgiving whereas the jewish belief was that god is always mad and will punish you till eternity for the smallest of sins. All that time, i was thiking to myself " How** is **god?" “Is he really as forgiving?”
So i guess what i want to ask here is that what you believe god is like, being a muslim, and that according to our beliefs where does he fit in compared to the always angry jewish god and the easy going christian god?
Your post reminded me of this hadith.
Hadith Qudsi 1:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him:
** "My mercy prevails over my wrath."**
It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah).
God may punish us as he sees fit, but we believe he is the most merciful and only with his mercy anyone of us can enter heaven, our good deeds alone will not be enough.
Then i guess allah would be somewhere in the middle, which seems more logical. Thanks for your post btw.
