Peace Muhammad Kamal
The Qur'an is easy to understand but to grasp its wisdom can be very difficult.

Psyah, you are being redundant...as to the questions posed...it isn't so difficult...one just has to know the context of the different surahs revealed and the GLORIOUS Qur'an has been translated into so many languages now so you don't have to know Arabic to understand it. Also, we musn't complicate things too much or overanalyze after all, everyone knows what happened to Bani Israeel concerning the heifer, it was I believe...

In but a single paragraph there are too many points for me to ask you more ...
I am being redundant? If you read again what I wrote was ... it is easy to understand ... but can be very difficult to grasp its wisdom. Which part of this phrase is excessive?
Note you have simply said back to me provided you:
a) know the context
b) possibly when they were revealed
c) Obtained a translation (that we understand)
it should be easy to UNDERSTAND ... I have no problem with this. To know the context would be powerful claim. Especially for why the Qur'an details the letters Alif, Laam, Meem ... or other combinations. As for the narratives for reproof, well there will be a sense of understanding in them that will be easy I guess. Knowing the context requires study ... pondering, research, etc ... as does the order of revelation ... obtaining one translation will give a peculiar bent to the understanding of the one who translated the Qur'an all you need to do is check this against the various translations in English. Again ... to understand it is easy but to grasp the wisdom therein can be difficult.
You say we must not over analyze and the evidence you have given to support this claim is what Bani Israeel had done in the case of the Heifer. I disagree to the CONTEXT of your provided evidence to be one that disregards the scrutiny of scripture. The case in the latter was a warning not to mock the direct INSTRUCTION from Allah (SWT), by asking superfluous questions through an arrogant obedience. The Qur'an tells itself to ponder over Creation and calls itself a guidance for 'people of understanding'. There are many scholars of the Qur'an who are not Muslim, because they have not grasped its wisdom and failed to understand though they walk you and me into the ground with regards to citations and references from the Qur'an, by heart.
You are right context is important ... but how about this as a concept ... the Qur'an is a tool for all levels of intellect. It is not so easy that it can be criticsed for being simple. It is not too difficult for it to be criticsed for being elitist. Yet the simpest minds will be able to get their understanding but the greatest of minds cannot impose greater wisdom over it.
Re: Is Glorious Quran difficult to understand ?
Hmmm...very interesting, psyah...I agree with what you are saying that indeed there are things that are unknown in the Qur'an and we are also told to "ponder" about the topics the Qur'an speaks about as you say. However, just explain to me how you can "understand" something without "grasping its wisdom."
