Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Some tatoos are quite classy, and some look damn sexy on women. Personally, I would never get one.

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

You sure you a muslim, cause thats like a zionist and his christian zionist supporter in america asking, is it ok to let a innocent muslim live...the answer to both of these trivial questions is a simple and unequivocal NO....

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Sure you can get a tattoo. In punjabi tattoo means donkey.

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

**Correction Cheegum Sahib, donkey is 'Ghudha' or 'Khoutaa' , tuttoo is actually a small or minature horse...:) **

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Well I will find the relative Verse from Holy Quran.

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

We Muslims believe that the faith that is known as Islam started with Aadam Elaih-i-salaam the first Muslim and also the first Human being, Allah ordained circumcision for Ibrahim Elaih-i-salaam, way before our Holy Prophet PBUH came.
You seem to imply that the Allah appeared after our Prophet PBUH came on the scene?

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

hahaha, nice one surge dawg

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

What you are saying implies that Islam is an extention of Judaism and Chritianity both of which have deep rooted faith in Abrahams teachings, then why do you consider your self superior to Jews and Christians? I am sure you will say there were shotcomings on Jews and Christians part and Islam was intruduced to correct the faults of those two religions. how is that possible, by imposing Arab culture on non-Arabs or allowing people to have 4 wives coz living your whole life with just one woman was a bad practice among Jews and Christians?

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

So which one of the earleir religions do you believe in? or is that too personal?
You have kind of summed it up quite well, however there are stories about Abraham in the Holy Quran that ar not in any of the old or New Testaments of the Bible, Muslims hold all of God's Prophets in high esteem, did you know that the very first place of Worship; for the One and only Almighty God of Abraham; anywhere on this old Earth was built by Abraham himself with the help of his Eldest Son Ismail and is called the Holy Kaaba in Mecca. Kaaba predates all other Temples, Churches or Synagogues.

I know most Jews and Christians are faithful to one wife, yet there are a lot out there who have mistresses, or simply girl friends, some celebrities or atheletes boast about their conquests numbered in not just 10 or 20 but 100's, this same kind of behaviour went on when the Holy Prophet PBUH arrived on the scene, so it was not a matter of allowing Four wives but a matter of limiting extramarital activities and debauchery and curbing the accesses being commited, so women instead of being treated like loose change and passed around amoungst Men for pleasure, would become wives, a much better status than girl friend or a sex object.

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

It's a losing battle, Cher ... but still worth fighting, perhaps some glimmer of light will eventually shine through.

SindSagar: why do you expect Cher to believe in any of the religions? I would wager that he/she is sensibly irreligious.

To the original poster: have you ever considered that the restrictions on your freedom to decorate your body any which way you want are just based on the whim of some religious scribe? And that really it makes no difference to anyone at all? Why should Allah not love you with or without marks on your body? Why do you accept the judgements of other people - who have no capacity for original thought, and instead are simply parrotting what they've been taught or what they've read in a book written hundreds of years ago? Why believe it at all? Just because you're told to? Because you're afraid of the various awful reprisals threatened eg. "Allah will curse you" referenced in an earlier post?

What kind of god curses people?

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

thats fine...

but there are certain no-no's in Islam

like Eating Pork, drinking alcohol, etc...

I just want to know in regards to a Tattoo

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Isn't it clear enough that the person is interested in Islamic/religious POV? Why is that YOUR problem if someone wants to know what religion says about some issue? If you don't follow a religion then it will be better to abstain from threads where someone is seeking religious advice/input. If you want to preach YOUR beliefs (or lack thereof) you can always open your own thread about it rather than poking your nose in other threads.

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

Perhaps because he believes the whole *are tatoos, lobster, colored burquas, toothpaste, jello, singing , music, dogs, lipstick, etc, etc, etc permissable *questions represent a misinterpretation of religion and common sense in general. If after 1400 years of the implementation of the perfect religion these questions are still being asked and answered differently by whichever mullah is answering, perhaps these are not religious questions at all and God does not care. Maybe there isn't an 'official' Islamic answer written down somewhere and God instead requires us to use our vast intelligence He gave us to discern for ourselves what pleases Him instead of having an absolute answer for every single question in the universe interpreted from what written down in some ancient report of of a report of what someone reportedly said centuries ago.

Not sure if that was his motive for answering, just a guess.

Re: Is getting a Tattoo against Islam?

If ppl in general spent more time following the very basic aspects of faith then worrying about shellfish, or type of head coverig or length of beard, things would be a lot better.

I mean it would be one thing if majority was following the basics, or atleast adhering to teh wisdom and humanity in faith, principles such as haqooq al ibaad..i.e. rights of the people, and of self control, discpline, decency and all...and then we worry about all the other stuff.
