Well, if you can buy a turkey at your local halal meat shop, then I guess there shouldn’t be any problem.

i made a veggie dish with spinach, boroccoli and raisins and my mom screamed at me saying "we dont heat raisins. they might burst and if they do..its haraam"....i ate it anyway, it tasted fantastic.

I asked because there is a split view on it. I or any member of the family have never eaten one (though I heard it tastes even worse than chicken according to a second cousin).
One of the reasons I read was that its beak was upturned which meant it ate animals etc. and is haram????

Turkey is available in all the Muslim countries, so its halal..
But I had a confusion about eating shark. As its a meat eater fish.

I have heard Halaal and Zabihah have two different meanings

Halaal means permitted.
Zabeeha means the slaughter was done by cutting the animal’s neck after taking Allah’s name.
The difference exists because some scholars, predominantly arab, hold that the food of the People of the Book, including meat (no matter how it is slaughtered) is halaal.
Other scholars, mainly desi, hold that all meat must be zabeeha in order to be halaal.

It means all the halal meat shops must be zabeehah meat shops, otherwise we shouldn't buy meat from there, should we ?
We muslim never agree on a single point, some say tie up ur hands above ur navel, some say below, some say beard must be three feet long to be momin, some say 3 inches.
Some say u must have size 7 to enter Jannah ... some say 9.
Ridiculous.

Btw, the tieing of your hands around the navel that I believe you are talking about in namaz? is due to different viewpoints in different madhabs in muslims (for example, Sunnis have 4 madhabs, hanafi, sha’afi, maliki, hanbli).
And zabiha, halal is not trying to make the issue hard as it is very basic!
I mean if jews can have kosher then why the heck can’t muslims have zabiha?
Some people go as many lengths as possible to justify their actions is unbelievable…

Blitz thats different Fiqah's not different madhabs. Madhab or Mazhab means religion.
