I need a question answered. Guppies, please try to shed some light on this topic if possible…
Does our religion, Islam, have provisions for muslims not to eat the hind area of a halal animal? Is it haram? I am curious to know because Jews don’t eat the hind area close to the posterior of the animal due to the obvious fact that it is so close to the excretory part of the animal. Does Islam say anything about this???
What hind part are you exactly referring to?
The thighs? If so, they are the most sought part of the animal, and among the most expensive:)
As far as Islam is concerned, if it hasnt been deemed haram, then its not haram.
In sheep/lamb/goat there is a body part called "ojhri", which is probably the pouch which carries their excretion before discharge. After cleaning it, many people in Pakistan even eat that. Personally I find the smell horrible, and the whole thing quite a put-off.
I am not exactly sure if the actual discharge point of an animal is consumed or not. The portion between their back thighs is probably separated and divided. In which case, I don't think there is a specific ruling on its permissibility or prohibition.
About the only body part where I know there is a ruling is the "kapooras" of the male goat, which is basically there testicles. I have been informed, that eating kapooras is haraam for muslim women and makrooh for muslim men. I never researched the reasons for this ruling because I find the item itself quite a turn-off. They are, however, quite popular in the bar be que outlets in Pakistan and are sold as part of the a dish called "katta katt" which includes gurdas, kaleji, qeema and stuff.
I read this question as the "is eating the hindu part of an animal haram".

And yeah, I'm a muslim as I was born into a muslim family, If I hadnt been I wouldnt be cos religion would never comple me to go and read up to cover all aspects. I like Cricket, Boxing and TV-that covers my life. :)
