I might go for this profession, I have applied for business managment degree in different universities but if Gor forbid I dnt get in, I will then apply for event managment :-)

hmmmm...can you elaborate on this event management thing? Sounds pretty interesting.

yup, im switching careers into event planning too- mainly wedding planning and other social events like anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvah's, birthdays, etc...
im also starting up my own wedding stationery design business... its just a natural extension i think from being a graphic designer.
plus, event planning is fun!

I agree! And there's so much that can be done! We need more event planners and wedding planners in Pakistan and Dubai.

hmmmm...can you elaborate on this event management thing? Sounds pretty interesting.
Ummm one of my friend took undergraduate course in event managment, its not about weddings only it also covers different events like big exhibitions, sport awards/ceremonies, confrences etc
she got a chance to work in many prestigeous events like London fashion week and confrences in Mayfair hotel and Wembley Arena where bollywood stars usually perform lol

I "unofficially" do wedding and family event planning in our extended family.
I love being creative and enjoy watching those concerned having a good time as a result.
Unfortunately, doing it in the extended family only now means that there's going to be a huge gap between the last wedding in Summer 2007 and the next - in around 5 years time!!
So Ihave been pestering hubby to promote my wedding planning skills to his friends etc in the hope that I get some creative fun!
I only do it voluntarily right now, but Insha Allah hope to make it a sideline business opportunity

thanks, pinklove! it was everyone saying that after my wedding was done that got me thinking, hrmm... perhaps this is my calling!
also, angel, a word of advice- proper spelling and grammar are so important when communicating with clients, and im sorry, but your short cuts and things really get to me lol
i'm more than willing to share info, but you gotta stop shortening "that" to "dat" and all the rest... i mean, theres only one extra letter between the two words and honestly, i want my eyes to stop bleeding when i read your posts! :p
