Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

Assalam u alaikum...

I think halat e ehram...means you do hajj n umrah in halat e harsm...ehram ki halat mein rest m not sure whether dead fish is allowed to eat

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

Tahurra is correct ... Ihram pahn kar shikar karna mana hai, lekin machli ka shikar karna uss kitab ke maslak ke mutabiq ja'iz hai.

Aur kyun ke machli ko zibha nahein kiya jata ... Wo automatically halal hai ... aur taqreeban har halat mein halal hai ... Mazbon mein machli aur baqi samundari janwaron mein kuch ikhtilafat hein ... Kuch kahtey hein ke sarey samundari janwar halal hein, aur kuch kahtey hein ke sirf asl machli halal hein, samundari keerey maqorey, octopus, aur crabs/lobsters wo log makruh karar detey hein.

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

Murda means that even if it was not a catch, and you find a dead fish at the beach, and meat smells/looks consumable then its Halal.

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

If you like , you can eat , not compulsory to eat . It is Halal , You can think it like a halal shuda murghi ,

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

From what I know, dead fish is not halal. But wait:

A fish that is caught alive and then died once caught is halal, but fish that one finds floating on water dead or washed on shore dead ... and cause of their death is unknown, is not halal.

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

From my knowledge, shrimps, crabs, prawns, etc ... they are not classified as fish and thus are considered makruh (if not outright haram).

Amongst animals of water, only those are considered 'halal' fish that have scales on them.

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

"Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al‑Maitah (the dead animals — cattle — beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which Allaah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering (that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allaah, or has been slaughtered for idols) and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns — and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal — unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) ‑ and that which is sacrificed (slaughtered) on An‑Nusub (stone‑altars). (Forbidden) also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision; (all) that is Fisqun (disobedience of Allaah and sin)”

Q & A: Sea Food in the Four Madhahib

According to the Hanbaliy and Shafi’ee scholars, all living creatures that live in the sea are halal, whether they are in the form of a fish or not. (Fiqh alal Madhaahib al-Arbaa). Based on this, oyster, oyster extract, shrimp, lobster and shark are all halal and permissible.

According to the Maliki scholars, every living creature of the sea is halal except eel. (Ibid) Hence, oyster, oyster extract, shrimp, lobster and shark are halal and permissible.

According to the Hanafi scholars, the only living creatures of the sea that are permissible are those that are in the form of a fish with an exception of the hagfish and eel. (Ibid). (these 2 even though they are not in the form of a fish they will be permissible to consume).

Hence, according to the Hanafi scholars, it will not be permissible to eat oyster, oyster extract, shrimp and lobsters. It will be permissible to consume shark as it is in the form of a fish.

IFANCA: Seafood - What’s Halal, What’s Not

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

Who is trying to eat a dead fish, that's my question...

Dead meaning - it's been dead, not that it was caught and cleaned and chopped for selling.

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

forbidden to use arrows that seek luck or decision? what does that mean?

Re: IS Dead Fish Halal??

My question is when you buy fish from the market how do you know that it was caught
