Hmm,, good debate..
Though just to make guppies feel here, there are under currents of Hindu Muslim in India but both communities are accepting each other more and more..
Now mostly when a girl marries a guy its less to do with religion its more to do with feeling good with some person.
Now Hrithik Roshan Married a Suzzane (Muslim), Most of the Khan stars of married Hindu girls. Mumtaz (a muslim) married a Hindu. Madhubala (a muslim) married Kishore Kumar.
In Indian cities marriages between Hindu's and Muslims are quite common.
There are more instances of Hindu girls marrying Muslim guys, reason is simple. Muslim girls are still not out of home as much as Hindu girls are, hence Muslim girls have less interaction with other communities. It will change as we education in Muslim world in India grows.
There was a time when Christian and Hindu marrying was a taboo. Today its such a normal thing, that people don't even consider this as anything odd. Hindu's and Sikh's marry with each other without any problem. Same is the case with Jain's and Hindu's.
I have said it earlier and say it again, India is not based on religion, its based on nationalism. Since in Pakistan nationalism and Islam get interwined, don't see India from same colored glasses.
