Is Christmas a pagan holiday ?

Is Christmas a pagan holiday or is it really a Jesus birthday?

Re: Is Christmas a pagan holiday ?

hey I was just reading on net about this , this is wht i read:

Christmas, as most of us know, is the Christian tradition honoring the birth of Christ – though it is not celebrated solely as such in modern society. Christmas represents a time of joy, gift-giving, and family. Christmas evolved out of the Roman tradition of Saturnalia, a festival honoring their god of agriculture, Saturn, on the winter solstice.

Due to the already-rampant celebration taking place on the date and the revering of light and the sun, it was a natural development to celebrate the birth of Christ on the same date. Many Roman writers give references to the date of December 25th and Christianity between the 2nd and 3rd centuries, and it is believed that the holiday was widely celebrated by Christians by the turn of the 4th century. Though Christmas is celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ, we don’t know the exact date, or even the year of his birth

Re: Is Christmas a pagan holiday ?

Yes xmas is a pagan holiday. And Jesus is probably hating on all the people who are celebarting it.

Christmas was a Roman Pagal holiday celebrate mostly by rich roman males. Christmas was celebrated on december the 25th in rome in which men would get drunk beat up their wives and have sex with each other. Jesus was not born on the 25th of December becuase the Palestanian winters are too cold and the sheapards wouldn’t be out and certainly marry and david wouldn’t be hanging out in the middle of the night in the winter.

The holiday was so atrocious that the protestants banned christmas all together, but it was allowed by congress around 1910s to get some revenue going. Just goes to show how gulliable man really is.
