this is sadly true. The sacrifices made for independence seem to have gone for naught. After 62 years, there hasn't been a stable government, independence from colonial master and freedom for all citizens

And the sadder thing is that we are still trying to seek "freedom" as if it is a concept that exists. Let's enslave ourselves instead to Allah (SWT). Surely that is what the vision for Muslims should be.

Seeking independence from worldly evils including being political slaves to a foreign power i snot mutually exclusive from submitting to god. In fact submitting without pying attention to worldly well being is escapist.

Do celebrate but not like eid and give also some of ur time in the event, thinking about the following.
Only country which came into existence as a miracle from ALLAH in the name of ISLAM. (Just go through cabinet mission plan when Quiad Azam left all hopes!).
We have promised ALLAH that we will spend our lives under his rule and system (Implementation of ISLAM) but where is ISLAM????
We have gone through every type of experimentation whether its hopes with America, Britain, IMF Europe in the forms of ( Secularism, Interest based Capitalistic Democracy (Biggest ever shirk), Feudal lord based system, Mixture of communist based controlled capitalistic democracy, worst dictatorships etc) but never looked at ALLAH, Betray him since 61 years. Thats why he put Nifaq (Hypocrisy) and Humiliation in entire nation now and also give us a jerk before in 1971
Biggest Munafiq country on the face of earth as no other country write down the clauses of ALLAH Sovereignty, and Quran/Sunnah Legalization and then never ever follow them!!!!!
ALLAH has given us so many chances "Atomic weapons", Agricultural Assets, Minerals Assests but alas we never implement his divine laws and now i am afraid that ALLAH just replace cowards like us by someother people as this is the ALLAHS Sunnah.
But hope for the mercy and pray plus work hard in doing something for ALLAHs DEEN.

I think you have a few concepts mixed up. By submitted to Allah (SWT) none else can be submitted to. This is criterion of La ilaha il Allah.
However, you are correct that as Muslims we cannot be escapist from our worldly lives nor should we adopt a totally worldly attitude to life, but a balance needs to be struck. It is this balance that is submission to Allah (SWT). By dealing nicely with others we are not submitting to them except that we have been instructed by Allah (SWT) to deal nicely with them.
I think this is what you are saying in which case I agree with you.
bidat is an innovation in religion.. IMO
but namaz-e-shukrana is NOT a bidat as it is a simple way to show our gratitude and thanks towards Allah for the blessings..
Celerbrating this kind of event has nothing to do with religion per se.
IMHO...........Celebrating events like this alongwith respecting to other islamic teachings is quite alright.
This means:
1- Learnig about the country origin.
2- Speaking about country origin.
3- Expressing happiness on the event.
4- Moreover, learning from any mistakes along the way.
Perhaps I just outlined how one should celebrate freedom.
