Is Canada a Women's country?

Re: Is Canada a Women’s country?

So what you have to do is factor the general stats with your experience to . Now there are definitely areas where there are more women then men- roles/levels/industry/field vary quite significantly.

The example you gave of security industry is very pertinent because I have spent some time in it as well. While you will find the companies filled with men as engineers. technicians, analysts etc, recruiters and HR are very often women. Marketing is another interesting area where when you look at Marcomm it seems to have more women, but product marketing or product mgmt looks to have more men. I fully understand you are not against equality, and did not have a reason to doubt it.

You have to ask yourself, is gender the only reason that your girl cousin got a job but not the guy? same field is great, same university? same grades? same networking? same focus area? similar personality. Could there be something to it, sure. Is it more likely that it is more than a gender basis..probably. Look, I dont know you, and trolling ppl is hither my style nor intent. I am saying it in your best interest to not let this become a scapegoat in any sense of the way. If you are having a little bit of a challenge, the best you can do for yourself is to evaluate what you can be doing better in how you are looking for career opportunities, levels, approach, networking, companies etc. That will truly help you.
