is bad language allowed for mods only?

how true is the claim that “bad language should be used to stop others from using bad language?”

U've been doing this all along. Why resent it when others follow suit.

Answer to question#1:

it depends! like in "General" section, no one is allowed to use that language. No Roman no Greek, no Mod no Admins. and no member.

Answer to question#2:

Well some ppls' language skills are limited...they don't know many languages...
and while communicating wid others, don't we all use such means which are understandable to them???

Ps.To All Members, Mods and Admins.>>>>>>> Answer to Q#1 is important!!!

This is a load of bullshit. Bad (actually it is not that bad) language should be part of our daily vocab. In Punjab, we refer to our loved ones with huge curses. E.g., I would address my Ami “O Niki SaRee di-ay”, and then my Dad will say to me: “Oye Haram Khora, koi Sharam kar”, and my younger brother will join in and say to my Dad: “Aba Jee, ay Bhai Jan Pagal day Putar nay”.

So I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Oye Haram Khora <<

Pagal day Putar <<<<

hahahaha see that might be true for u. but not for every everyone else here.

Mundyaa, for you words don’t do justice. Haram Khor to describe you is like saying “Bad Boy” to Clinton. You are the champion my little rascal, you!

NYA you are right. Punjabi paindoos are very imaginative in their cursing. I will write a new post regarding this subject in the Arts and Culture section.

Xtreme yar, that is the spirit. Let everyone know what Punjabis are made of. To know us is to love us. I hope all Ghusi Katee Dey will learn from us.

yeah but thali ka bengan fits u ny.

I think bad language is inappropriate no matter who the person is, using it. It just goes on to depict what kind of person one is, what kinda background they come from, their values, morals, ethics, personality etc.

I realized that evry thing has been given a -ve value just because you use bad language.

what kind of person one is<< ok its can reflect... that, but its very harsh to bash someones values, morals, ethics just because he uses bad lingo.

inappropriate...in some cultures its not.

An old urdu saying goes as :

Latoon kay bhoot batoon say nahi mantay

goes for idiots who have no shame in cursing abusing others, their families, beliefs and then shout abuse abuse when same thing happens to them

Hmm....dunno where or why this discussion started but I'll answer the question....

No. I don't believe that retaliating in kind will do anything to prevent a situation that's gone awry.

In fact, those people that are able to rise above and refrain from partaking in such abusive behaviour manage to gain added respect from society.

The "galis" that are used at home are a different story altogether. Those folks that grow up in that kind of environment should also know where and when to use the jargon. Just because you grew up calling each other names "pyar se" doesn't give you license to do so in public...simply because the public has certain expectations of you.

It's knowing where and when to use what language that matters.

its very harsh to bash someones values, morals, ethics just because he uses bad lingo.*****

Well to answer that, in my opinion the way a person talks and communicates with others tells a lot about that person. So if one can't talk without using abusive, vulgar language, then that says a lot about that person.

GoldDiamonds. Why should a person be judged by the way he/she expresses him/herself? In war-rooms all over the world, abusive language works wonder. Family life (Punjab in particular) is like a war-room scenario, and one needs to get one’s frustrations out. Curses (thank God for the MaN-ChouD who invented them) convey the feeling rather nicely. It is part of our culture and heritage and I for one, am darn proud of it.

It is absolutely ridiculous to attach classes to people judging them solely on their modes operands. Some Ikhlaq-ChouD people have a lot to learn!
