To me, civil engineers are unsung heroes. Sometimes they are just that close to be working against the laws of physics to make some artful architecture’s vision come true. And then the engineer hardly gets a credit from normal people.
A design, as good as it looks on piece of paper, is nothing but equations of bending moments, material elasticity, structural fatigue and what not, if you want to build it.
Now this is not to put down the artists with in an Architect, this is just to show that Art requires Science to exist or at least to flourish.
off course we can all argue that painting requires colors which are made of chemicals that is nothing but pure science
or to see an art, you need your nuero nerves to be attached to your retina so the brain can process the information that it is recieving in the form of light.
I hope that this thread would stay away from such perspectives

That can very well be the case for any task so I wouldn't include that since it counts in every field and not just Art.
Other than that, I do agree with you that science may be involved without us realizing. Chemicals present in Art Supplies may be one example like you said.

if you are calling human structure and the way it works... nothing but science .. than life itself can't exist without science.. breathing for example...
Art does not need science… you can create things that contradict with science (Abshrtract Art AKA Tajreedi Funpaaraa:phati: )but you can not depict a science without an art.
Dont know if it is Art or science. Well .. more science than art.
This is the inner of your car hood, if you open it and remove the protective covering from inside, this is what you see (depending on what car you are driving)
Put that together when I was working for automotive industry. May not look very artistic but this is real 3D data that you can take to workshop and make a real hood out of that,
.. you know .. the dimesnions and everything … realistic upto 0.25 of a mm.
