It is not okay to shutdown a lecture at a university no matter how much you disagree with the speaker.

Re: Irvine 11 Verdict: Guilty

does the same hold true everywhere else?

I forget to add "Being Muslim it is not okay to shutdown a lecture at a university no matter how much you disagree with the speaker"

Re: Irvine 11 Verdict: Guilty

They were on University grounds and thus violated the University code of conduct.

Its like if you are in a class room and are constantly interrupting a lecture delivered by a professor.

I don't think they should have been prosecuted by the DA. University should have disciplined them and thats all.

Either expel them from university, or suspend them from 1 year or something.
