Re: Ireland v Pakistan Adelaide Oval, 15 March 2015
All I see is the downfall of Pakistan cricket team where a lot of people are having second througts about a match with associate level cricket team. How far we can progress in this world cup even if we qualify for quarters?
I can see Irish team a lot more motivated and determined to make it count as this is not just a pre quarterfinal for them, it's a battle for recongnition and to prove themselves and we have see na very different irish team when they are in this spirit. Just have a look in 2011 when they turned around their match against England. If Ireland loses, its not just a knockout for them, they wont see the world cup for 8 years at least and their chance to get promoted at test level will be doomed. so Irish team will play like cornered tigers tomorrow.
On the other hand, I have closely watched our team since 1996. I know their weeknesses and strengths . I know they can turn the tables anytime but at the same time, they are very famous to lose where none can expect. But its not just a qualifying match for them either. Its a lot more. I dont know how Bob woolmer died but if God forbids Pakistan loses to Ireland Waqar and Co should die with the embarrassment of this defeat.
I hope Pakistani teams gives their best tomorrow and wins the match. But they have to prove that they deserve to be in quarterfinal by putting a good display in ground and not just being a better team in books.

Maybe people are having second thoughts because Pak have n't really batted well against top opposition for sometime now. Wins against Zim and SA were courtesy of bowlers
Expecting a 7th ranked team to reach the QFs is a reasonable expectation (and anything beyond should be considered a bonus)
Re: Ireland v Pakistan Adelaide Oval, 15 March 2015
I don’t think Hafeez, Ajmal, Gul or Junaid are “key bowlers”.
A key bowler is a bowler who is playing, is fit, and their action is not suspect, and they can bowl without issues.
The actions of hafeez, ajmal are banned…Gul is no longer fit/capable, and Junaid is unfit. So these are pretty much “useless” bowlers as far as the Pakistanis are concerned. Hafeez can’t even bat without wasting so many balls/

Sohaib Maqsood is turning out to be another unreliable slogger; has a tendency to go aerial and hole out unnecessarily. He has potential but he needs to rein in that aggression a tad in order to be a good batsman.
Maqsood doesn't seem to have a sound technique against swing either. Against WI he made a 50 but he he was incredibly lucky not to get out early. He kept flailing wildly at deliveries outside off (Jerome Taylor) but luckily for him kept missing.
Haris Sohail probably has a better technique against swing but he lacks power and placement in his shots. Usually hits the ball straight to a fielder!
