Russia provided Iraq with laser-guided Kornet-E ATGM with a range of four miles. US should try a little monkey business with Russia for helping its enemy with GPS jammers, ATGM, Intelli and God knows what. Rumors are a dozen john rambos were killed because their GPS was not working and walked straight into a trap.
Oh please pardon my ignorance US has to deal with Iran, Iraq and NK the axis of evil first before their John Rambos make a move on Moscow ( that I’d love to see)
Also heard the crafty Russkies have put their missile force on alert.
** As the squadron settled in for the night, they knew they had been lucky — three tanks, a Bradley and several trucks destroyed, yet no one seriously injured.
But 80 miles ahead lay Baghdad. And between the squadron and Baghdad waited the best troops Saddam Hussein can muster. **

EAST BANK OF THE EUPHRATES RIVER, Iraq — The tone of Capt. Clay Lyle’s voice on the radio gave no hint of the violence that was about to erupt.
“We’re in contact,” Lyle said calmly, as if he were announcing the time of day, not that his cavalry troop had just been ambushed at night in enemy territory.
Lyle’s M1A1 Abrams tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles were the lead elements of the roughly 500-vehicle convoy that comprised all of 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment’s ground combat power. The squadron was strung for 15 to 25 miles along two-lane roads beside the western bank of the Euphrates River, and a growing dust storm had grounded the Kiowa armed scout helicopters that would usually fly ahead checking for enemy positions.
