Just heard it on the radio. Iraqi militants have captured 3 Indian, 2 Kenyans and Egyptians. They have threatened to behead their captives unless India and Kenya pull their soldiers out of Iraq. I didn’t even know India had any soldeirs in Iraq.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A militant group said Wednesday it had taken six more hostages - three Indians, two Kenyans and an Egyptian - and would behead them if their countries did not immediately announce the withdrawal of their citizens from Iraq. The U.S. death toll since the start of the war rose to 900 when a roadside bomb killed a soldier.
The seizure of the hostages came a day after a Filipino truck driver was released in exchange for Manila’s withdrawal of its 51-member troop contingent - a move criticized by Washington and other allies as encouraging more abductions.
Those fears seemed to be realized with the new kidnappings.
In a statement given to The Associated Press, the group, calling itself “The Holders of the Black Banners,” said it had abducted the six truckers and would behead one of them every 72 hours starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday if their nations did not pull out of Iraq and the company they work for did not close its branch here.
“We have warned all the countries, companies, businessmen and truck drivers that those who deal with American cowboy occupiers will be targeted by the fires of the Mujahedeen,” the statement said. “Here you are once again transporting goods, weapons and military equipment that backs the U.S. army.”
None of the countries are part of the 160,000-member coalition force in Iraq; however, Interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi appealed last week to India and Egypt to join the coalition and send troops.
More than 60 foreigners have been taken hostage in Iraq in recent months.

^ ^infact india dont have bad relationship with iraq. India denied to send troops to iraq and the only help india offered is to build schools and hospitals.
Iraqis should know the difference between friends and foes.
If they want to gain world support then they should not loose countries who are friend already. Not to forget india was one of the countries who critisized american attack on iraq.
i hope those innocent indians and others come back home safely.

, it’s been said time and time again. These kidnappings and beheadings are wrong, immoral and totally unislamic. The militants aren’t exactly helping their cause.
By the way, not sure if you noticed or not, but most of the “Muslim world” are also silent about the ethnic cleansing of their Muslim brothers and sisters in Sudan.

Yes MQ. I had posted a URL by one Salim Mansur of Toronto Sun who criticised the muslim world precisely for that silence. When we mention this, GS's Hate India lobby immediately calls us as haters of Islam. I don't think anywhere in Holy Quran or in any of the Hadiths (altho I don't pretend to be an alim) it says you could rape and kill fellow muslims who happen to be black as the arab militia are doing in Sudan or grab innocent truck drivers from India and threaten to behead them as they are doing in Iraq. For all I know these Indian truck drivers may very well be muslims.
Again, don't look for shameful behaviour in the muslim world out there. Even in GS, it stands out. Or is there really an ill-concealed glee that a bunch of Indians are going to be beheaded?
Arvind, I don't know of anybody who can take any satisfaction in these beheadings. The nationality of the victims is of little relevance. What's wrong is wrong, and no, these acts aren't allowed in Islam. Anybody who can take any satisfaction in these events need to get their head examined.
Why should the Muslim world speak up? I don't see any prominent Jews standing up to condemn the actions of Israel nor do I see any prominent Hindus standing up for what's going in Kashmir. As for the US, I won't even go there.

Many prominent Hindus have criticised Indian govt for mis-treating Kahmir muslims this despite the fact infiltration of terrorists into Kashmir continues unabated.

I totally agree. It is a VERY WRONG perception that the people of Pakistan, or Pakistanis in general will be ecstatic about Indians being killed. Sure, a few fanatics may be, but the overall majority mostlikely won't. We are all humans. Let's learn to respect one another.
By prominent I meant someone in the govt not a bunch of people who happen to have a website. What are you trying to prove? I can show 10 quotes of condemation from Muslim Leaders for every one of yours. The point is, there is a fine line between being empathetic and apologetic, which often blurred by ridiculous expectations. As for resolving India-Pak problems, thats not even the issue here, if you want to discuss that, open another thread.

these guys came for the high paid jobs.. nowhere else in the world a truck driver gets paid as much as they will .. they took the risk.. they knew it's a war zone.. so why cry now.. iss tarah toa hota hay iss tarah kay kaamoN maiN..

Very good point buddy. Dont expect the world to stand up for you when the russians clean up your asses(put bombs in them) in Chechnya and the americans do that for you in Iraq.
