rvikz me old buddy, I did mention the Shia's in a previous post. But yes you are right the Shia Muslim issue will be a problem if Saddam is ousted from power. Iraq is 63% Shia Muslim Arabs, 12% Sunni Muslim Arabs, 4% Christian Arabs and 21% Kurdish-speaking. From the time of Iraq's independence in 1932, Iraq has been ruled by the minority Sunni Muslim and Christian Arabs. For instance Saddam is a Sunni, and his foreign minister Tariq Aziz is a Christian.
If the Americans want a free and represenative Iraq, that will mean a Shia Muslim majority rule-Iraq. This situation was about to arise in 1991, when the Kurds and Shia's rose against the Saddam regime. But the Americans wactched from the skies as the Shia's were slaughtered by Saddam's helicopter gunships (which they allowed to him to use in the ceasefire agreement). The American's panicked that Saddam was being about to be ousted by a Shia rebellion, which would take over Iraq, and end up being friendly to Shia Iran. Lets see how they deal with that conundrum this time round?
Please don't take me wrong, I do not believe in the propoganda put out by the terrorist PKK movement, and I don't believe all the so-called Human righjts reports, but I would like to know from you on the Turkish Kurds.
Dear brother, I think we both turks and pakistanis are not aware that we are sharing to many common properties. There is no a pure culture belonging turks that conflict with kurds. Turkish culture is a mix that is composed of many ethnical muslim culture. What does 'turks do not give permission to kurds to live their own customs or traditions' mean? what is the customs or traditions of kurds??? or turks??? for exp, are punjabi brothers emposing punjabi culture to pashtuns as pakistani culture? or pakistani culture is a common culture which was composed of that different ethnical muslims? you see, Turkey and pakistan are depending on same mentality. When I read history I can not understand why this ethnical problem were all seen in muslim countries. Russia proveked and used serbians, bulgarians, greeks and armanians against ottoman in the name of protecting ortodox christian's rights. But Ottoman can not get help of other muslim nations. (arabs riot against ottoman) . British used indian muslims against ottoman in egypt, syria, iraq and gallipoli fronts in ww1 against ottoman. I read in a memory book. one day in gallipoli front turks captured a british soldier. They realised that he is not resembling to british. They asked who he was. He said he is indian and muslim. Turk soldiers asked "why are you struggling against your brothers and khalifah" he said "I was told that germans are invading ottoman and tring to capture khalifah, I was thinking you were germans" we were cheated by british and and still they are tring to cheat us. there are 7 million caucasis muslim including chechen and 7 million balcani muslims including bosnian and albanian in turkey but they can not help their both ethnical and muslim brothers in chechenia nad bosnia coz when turkey said to russia "stop to kill chechens" he said "do not intervene my internal issue, do not forget that I can provoke kurds, you are sharing same problem" same words were said by serbians. This is big lie TURKS AND KURDS ARE SHARÝNG SAME BELIEFS and IDEALS. In the street noone interests or knows who is that man? kurd or turk? all turks are carring kurd blood and kurds are carring turk blood. But because of this fear (dividing) turks can not help their brothers in checenia and bosnia. In CAVHAR DUDAYEV time turkey was the most supporter and financer of chechen independent movement and was the most supporter of kosova albanians and bosnians in international issues. But these were all cut suddenly coz russian and greeks, serbians threatened turkey to use kurdish card. If a poll is done here I believe half of the guppies will support greekce against turkey. But that greece was the most supporter of serbians whlie there happened a massacre against bosnians.
Brother, also I still want to hear specific argumants that will prove turks are doing discrimination against kurds from other guppies. It will be fruitfull to debate so pls convey your argumants so that I also can learn some facts. Till now there was only one argumant "turks do not give permission to kurds to use their own language in education" but anymore it is free according to new laws after changes also death penalty was demolished. (these were done all after eradicating PKK) While usa and other westerns are violating human rights day by day and also democratic tenats are beeing ignored turkey is stepping good progresses. I still do not support turkey in many issues. It is still a police state rather than law state. But in this issue (kurdish issue) I do not blame them too much coz the situation is beeing to exaggerated. It is regarded as if there is a conflict like palestene-Israel kashmir-ýndia chechen-russia between turk-kurds. While some turks are hearing such comments they say "then if kurd-turk relations are same like palestene-jews than Israel is right" but these both issue is too different like apple and pear. Turkey is not invader of kurd regions and believe me there is no conflict between turks and kurds likle them and noone interests with his real ethnic background except a very few ultra nationalist kurds and turks. Thats an interesting fact. The half a million figure that I quoted was figures derived I guess from Iraqi statistics, but if the 2 million figure is correct then I guess it explains why Turkey feels it is justified to intervene in Northern Iraq.
I agree in many ways Galatasaray. I hope Kurds and Turks can figure their mistakes and drive out their racism. Same for Pakistan.
