Iraq blasts target tribal leader

**Five people have been killed and 33 injured in a bomb attack targeting a tribal leader’s house in western Iraq.**Several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were reportedly placed in debris near the house in Qaim, in Anbar province, which was under construction.

When people in the area gathered after the first explosion, four more IEDs are said to have gone off.

The tribal leader, named as Sheikh Turki Hamad Mikhlif, has been involved in fighting al-Qaeda in the province.

A curfew is in place in the area, which is close to the Syrian border.
