Can you explain why Assad is much worse than any other Arab dictator or tyrant, prior to this civil war what did he do that worse than the oppression the other gulf states inflicted on their population.?

For one thing Assad (a minority Alawite) is inflicting harm on people of the state that he had control over … They are not his people and he is not leniently dealing with them as though they are his people …
