are pakistanis civilised before converting to islam?
[/QUOTE]
No, how can you be civilised and Hindu at the same time? loll, only joking…
No one is truly civilised without Islam, including the Arabs even they were uncivilised and living in darkness, Jaahiliyyat (ignorance) and Paganism before Allah guided them through His Book and His Prophet (Sallallaho Alayhe Wassallam) out of Darkness into Light, same with us from the Indian Sub-Continent.
It’s Islam that refines and educates people in the right way not man made culture.

Interesting that you mention this. I have met a lot of Iranian students in India, they're dotted all over the place. Indians treat them like Parsis. I found them easy-going, very friendly and not at all suffering from any religious blocks. In fact they're known to be more with-it with the night scene than local swingers. Yes, it's true most of them were pro-India and very much at ease amongst us.

Indian Punjabis (who are 105.6 % same as Paki Punjabis) don’t brag about their Persian or Arab ancestry? And why should they? And they are very proud to be Punjabis. Are we that insecure about being just Punjabis, who happen to be same as Indian Punjabis? Just a piece of advise, don’t ever tell any Arab or Persian that Pakistanis have Arab and Persian heritage. They will kill you. Honestly. Pakistanis are seen as Indians all over the world, and not Arabs.
In case you are wondering, English ruled India (and what is Pakistan now) more than Arabs and Mongols combined. Do you consider yourself part-English too? Howdy Lady?

Madhanee, Indian Punjabis would rather brag about being mistaken for Italian after they've highlighted their hair and worn blue contact lenses.
Seriously though, you have a point when you ask why some Pakistani Punjus cannot be as secure in their skin as Indian Punjus. They are so vehement in denying reality (at least on GS) that they end up as caricatures. That goes for Indians too who have similar fantacies. Have you ever seen an Iranian try to be anything but an Iranian? No wonder he comes across as much more refined than a desi trying to be Italian or Greek.
all Pakistanis are not punjabis. so err how can someone be proud of his punjabi hertitage when he is not punjabi :D

Never heard of that before, Madhanee uncle. Mere sarcasm or are your facts a little bit muddled?

Madhanee Pakistani Punjabis might be ethnically the same as Indian Punjabis but that doesn’t mean they should start loving people at the other side of the border, which you seem to be suggesting indirectly.
What happened to their common ethnicity and brotherhood when half a century ago tens of thousands of Muslims were slaughtered by Indian Punjabis mainly the SikhRey and so many Punjabi Muslim women had to commit suicide by jumping in wells to protect their honour?

No wonder some people out of their frustration calls all bengalis as bengali.
God good there are visible differnces between benaglis of calcutta and bengalis of Bangaldesh...it should be then our ancestors were persian and arab.

I've always wondered why that was, actually there's differences between people even inside Bangladesh like 1/4 of them have them eyes look more like Pakistanis and North Indians and the other 3/4 like south indians, hows that work?

Well yeah duh! Of course I’m a blue blood. ![]()
I come from two very noble tribes, one is a mixture of Pashtun/Hindko and moms side is all Balochi up until my great grandfathers days our village was ruled by us for generations, my great grandfather was the head of the village sort of like Chaudharies in southern Punjab, but we don’t call them that in our region. :Pagri:
Well anyway, even the Brits would **** their pants in front of my great grandfather and didn’t have the balls to come into our village, a real brave man he was. All the people in the village, Muslims and Hindus alike would always come to him for advice and to settle their disputes, and when a Hindu woman wanted to convert to Islam, he would give her protection so that her people don’t harm her. ![]()
If things had gone smoothly I would have been the ‘Crown Prince’ of our village today but oh no Pakistan ne ban’na hee tha ![]()
Very good point, Dhulfiqar :k:
However, I think we have gotten off-tangent a little bit. The original discussion was about Iranians and Pakistanis and their views on each other. In line with this, I know of 2 Pakistani-Iranian couples who are happily married and there were no far-reaching dilemmas that they faced from family and friends upon marriage or even now years later. I think no matter who is stereotyped, stereotyping is not a healthy approach in and of itself in judging people. A person needs to have firsthand experiences with any given nationality or ethnicity to draw some kind of conclusions.
Why would I be offended, nothing wrong with dark skin, I think it’s really exotic and I’m not Punjabi although I think Punjabis are cool unless you count Hindko speakers as Punjabi (although not ethnically the same as Punjabis, Hindko is a dialect of the Punjabi language) so technically yeah I’m part Punjabi. ![]()
And none of my family is dark skinned (although nowt wrong with that) most of us have green/blue/hazel or black eyes, dark brown/black hair and fair complexion. ![]()
