He's iranian, they may look at words differently. Remember we speak urdu, not farsi.

Definite in english means something other than the french phrase it is derived from i.e. de finite even though both mean roughly the same thing.

Re: Iranian Painter Farhad Moshiri's Art sold for over $1 Million

(in Arabic alphabet: عشق) is an Arabic word which literally means love with no lust. The word is derived from Ashiqa, a vine- that when love takes its root in the heart of a lover, everything other than God is effaced. In Islam's Sufi and mystic doctrine it is a concept which refers to divine love or a creature's love for its creator; i.e. man's love for God.

Re: Iranian Painter Farhad Moshiri's Art sold for over $1 Million

When we here the high prices of any painting, Most of the time that money has nothing to do with artist, Its always the person who owns the painting,
Art is a big bisness from collectors and the gallery, They always scope out all the profit not the poor artist.

Re: Iranian Painter Farhad Moshiri's Art sold for over $1 Million

^ that doesn't sound fair at all

Re: Iranian Painter Farhad Moshiri's Art sold for over $1 Million

Well, lots of people buy orignal Art just for the same purpose. Its a good investment, Normally prices doubled after the death of An Artist.
You can own the art but you are not allowed to sell the copies or prints of the same art.
Artist hold that right for 100 years,

100 years after his death the copyright is free.
