TEHRAN: Iran is ready to share its missile systems with friends and neighbours, said the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, after he showed off missiles including some he said had cluster warheads.
Revolutionary Guards Commander-in-Chief Yahya Rahim Safavi said on Sunday that the Guards had thousands of troops trained for suicide missions in case Iran was threatened, although “a US attack is unlikely”. “We are able to give our missile systems to friendly and neighbouring countries,” Safavi told Al-Alam.
Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Reza Sheibani was quoted as saying that the Islamic Republic was ready to supply air defence systems — without giving specifics — to the Lebanese military. .
“Tehran also considers this as its duty to help friendly countries that are exposed to invasion of the Zionist regime (Israel),” Sheibani was quoted as saying, in response to a so-called request by Lebanon’s army commander, General Michel Suleiman, for help from friendly states.
On Thursday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they fired Shahab missiles with cluster warheads. Experts say the Shahab 3 has a maximum range of 2,000 kilometres. Reuters
it could mean sell or give for a fraction of its true price, this doesnt matter a whole load. as having the technology is better then not having it. pakistan itself is indeed isolated in the world arms market, nobody willing to sell to us without massive preconditions and technology downgrades.
I don't know if that's true, their diplomatic corps always consists of a military attache, atleast in countries they're friendly with. I'd assume with such a powerful military regime, their weapons industry would be flourishing.
i dont think you realise whats at stake here, its nothing to do with profit. the fact that muslim countries cannot buy military materials is set in stone, but this is not what the offer is about. its an offer more interesting since iran, lebanon and pakistan have similar security concerns. if pakistan agree it'll send out a clear message of wanting irans wellbeing and vice versa. lebanon should agree, full stop.
Iran is fast becoming target for attack I think. Osama went too far and united Amreeka and many countries and Afghanistan was successfully attacked. Then Bush went too far and managed to lose all that sympathy and ended up losing iraq and almost afghanistan. now ahmedinejad is going too far.
it will but india has chosen its path with the vote they made at the UN and this maybe further proof of the end of that friendship. iran knows india is not trustworthy or dependble for the future.
Iran warns India on nuclear vote
Iran has singled India out for criticism over Delhi’s support for Iran to be referred to the UN Security Council over its nuclear plans.
“India’s vote came as a great surprise to us,” an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday. “We will reconsider our economic cooperation with those countries that voted against us.”
What would happen if Pakistan takes that offer??
We are already in the worst situation here. Would it go further down .....
or would it be beneficial in a long-run, if Pak, China & Iran form a strategic alliance ----- does it sound LaLa Land or can it happen.
what do you guys think
