But the question is , do we need a corridor to China and that too from Iran? Remember Iran is one of those countries who do not really appreciate the setting up of the Gawader Port which is going to be a stronger competitor to the Chahbahar Port. I don't think Pakistan needs a corridor and that too for China. Apart from that these are good signs for Iran, Pakistan relations

Iran is not offering Transit Route to China, as Pakistan borders China & already has a route to them. Iran is asking us for a route to China, as they have huge trade with each other (over $13 billion).

Iran is offering transit route to Central Asian States, Russia, and possibly Eastern Europe (Turkey, Ukraine).

Pakistan already has a transit route to Central Asia, through China. But some Central Asian regions, such as Turkemenistan, Western Uzbekistan, Western Russia are closer if the route is made through Iran. The rest of the routes are closest through the current route (through China).
