If Iraq should pay reparations to Iran for its use of chemical weapons, shouldn't the world pay reparations to Iraq for the allied coalition's use of DU during the 'Gulf War' - the consequences of which hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children have paid for with their lives. IMHO it works both ways.
Nadia, where did you get this “hundred of thousands” figure from? With 24 Million Iraqis, and with around 40% of the population under 14 yr old, and with an annual birth growth rate of 3 %, that makes roughly a million (actually more like 800,000) children under the age of 2. Considering that almost 70% of population now lives under protected areas (I am excluding Shias and Kurds), that leave around 300,000 children under the age of two. Where did you get this “hundred of thousands” from? I am just curious. Did this include Shias and Kurd children also?
Do you have any real fatality figures for the whole of Iraq from some reasonable sources? I will much appreciate it.
