**Iran has released on bail a French teaching assistant who is charged with spying, a statement from President Nicolas Sarkozy’s office said.**The statement said Clotilde Reiss, 24, was in good health and would stay at the French embassy in Tehran pending a verdict in her trial.
Ms Reiss was charged with aiding an anti-regime plot after Iran’s disputed presidential election in June.
She had been held in an Iranian prison since early July.
