An interesting discussion going on here. The U.S is a superpower, no other country even comes close to it. It will remain a power to be reckoned with for a long time to come.
On the other hand, it is clear that the U.S has peaked and is in a gradual decline. Countries like China and India will become greater players in world affairs. We are heading from a sole superpower to a few regional powers in the world.
As far as Iran is concerned...it was plenty of money, it is focused and it has continued to grow in strength since the end of the Iran-Iraq war. It is becoming an important regional player. Its progress in military technology implies that Russia and China are indirectly supporting it as they cannot afford to let it go the same way as Iraq.
First of all, America is technologically advance, not the best, being the only super-power, so with power abuse comes along (jis ki laathi us ki bhains).
A "Sensible argument" doesn't mean that its accurate and rebuttle doesn't mean its "ejihadi".
American superiority will only last till they play cat-mice game in Middle East(Iraq and Afganistan) otherwise they wil get headaches of social reforms, economic stability. Bottom line is if you look closely South Asian countries are growing rapidly, speaking in economic terms, China is leading the way.
As for what Iran did, well good for them if they have made something good for their defence, likek there is only one purpose of Gun "to kill" same is for the whatever technology of destructioin (futue weapon tv show).
Last but not least history is owns prespective, it can be twisted and turned (above post) selective part which appeal the reader. V_I you dont agree on the fact that a particular community was advance at time (Muslims = Science, algebra...etc), even All books or journals validate from where it emerged or at time who were accurate.
P.S: Arguing just for the sake is ordinary, only a bigger man can accept and acknowledge.
America might already have loaded all co-ordinates of so called missile sites of Iran...it will not take them more than 5 minutes to detsroy these launching sites and control centers of Iran, much before Iranians can actually launch an attack.
However defeating Iran is one thing...and complicating the middle east situation is completely another...any attack on Iran will complicate the situation in Iraq as worst than ever...not to mention Hexbollah in Labanon will open another front.
In terms of military might Iran is nowhere...whatever destroyers it can produce...America won't give it a rats arse....No one really knows how modern early warning systems and much sophisticated Aegis systems American Navy in Gulf waters are using??
According to conservative estimates by Russian intelligence, American can detect any hostile weapon at least 1000 KMs away from their Warships...and then engage and neutralise the threat much before it can pose a threat to American warships..
Really, I am surprised how come Iran can harm American Navies Fifth naval command based in Bahrain......also Iran lacks a credible cruise missile like Brahmos or Tomahawk(babur) etc. which can actually pose a threat only when they can escape missile defense systems of advanced American carriers...
Iran has still a loooong way to go before it can even think of threatening American fleets.
But at the same time, America can't afford to open another front in Iran, when their soldiers are living on the mercy of suicide bombers in Iraq.
Attck on Iran means point of no return in Iraq...and probably Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain and UAE will hear some music....it's really not wise from America to attack Iran at the moment.

Dude, I'm not discrediting muslims from any of their achievements. Back in the day the muslim world has contributed in many fields of science, just like the buddhists, hindus have etc. Today's scientific achievements (military, technological, communication, etc, etc, etc!) are mostly credited to Western scientists and not muslim scientists. You are probably not aware of the general tone our ejihadi has regarding every international event. He is full of biased beliefs against any Kafir country. Just read some of his threads and you will understand what I'm trying to say.
There is no doubt that in the next 50 years China and India are going to emerge as global powers. The USA will not enjoy the same level of dominance that it has been in the last few decades, but still they will be the leader in technology and military capabilities for a looooooong time.
Well, why don’t we or anyone leave a country what they are doing and always link any development in that country to speculative USA invasion and what that country can do or not.
If they are developing, it is good for them. I do not know how fast they are developing, but one thing is for sure. A country always develops faster under threat than during peace, when population becomes lethargic. Thus, it is most likely that Iran must be developing faster now then if there was no threat.
That is the reason many countries develop a threat even when they do not have one. After the collapse of USSR, USA and west needed a threat regardless of its existence. Today, they have created an imaginary threat, that is Islam and Muslim world, that’s it.
