Iran blames Pakistan for suicide bombing in Sistan-Baluchistan

Iran says the “terrorists” who carried out the bomb attacks yesterday received training in Pakistan. Iran has accused of Pakistan trained militants in the past. Iran accuses supporting Sunni separatists in Shia dominated Iran.

Tehran - Iran on Thursday accused Pakistani officials of being connected with this week’s suicide bomb attack in the south-east of the country, state media reported.

‘Some local Pakistani officials are linked to the terrorist act in Chabahar,’ Ali Abdollahi, the deputy minister and head of security at the Interior Ministry, told official news agency IRNA.
The officials concerned ‘have granted permission for the terrorists to cross the border into Iran,’ he was quoted as saying.

The coastal city of Chabahar is approximately 100 kilometres from the Pakistani border.
‘The base of the terrorists is on the other side of the Pakistani border and despite several warnings by Iran, the Pakistani side has done nothing to arrest these terrorists,’ Abdollahi said.

According to the latest information from the provincial governor’s office, at least 34 people were killed and dozens injured Wednesday in a suicide bombing at a mosque in the city in Sistan-Baluchistan province, which borders both Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Some sources say 39 were killed and more than 100 injured.

The spokesman of the parliamentary security commission also said that the terrorists involved in Wednesday’s attack were trained in Pakistan.

‘Pakistan should clarify its stance towards these terrorists and our government should take serious and practical steps in this regard,’ Kazem Jalali told IRNA.

Officials had earlier accused the United States and Israeli intelligence services of supporting Jundollah.
US President Barack Obama has condemned the suicide attack as ‘a disgraceful and cowardly act,’ while UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned it ‘in the strongest possible terms.’

One terrorist was killed along with the victims when his bomb went off, officials said.

Accounts vary of what happened to additional bombers, said to have numbered between one and three. The intelligence services said one further attacker was killed, another arrested at the site, and a fourth caught trying to cross into Pakistan.

Jundollah leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iran earlier this year and hanged in June in the Evin prison in Tehran.

Since then the group, which is said to be also linked to the terrorist network al-Qaeda, has vowed to take revenge and is thought to have been behind several deadly bombings in the province.

Re: Iran blames Pakistan for suicide bombing in Sistan-Baluchistan

Iran must already be sore about the 'historic' Pakistan-India-Afghan-Turkmenistan gas pipeline treaty that has the aasheerbad of Amreeka ( who didn't approve of the Iran-Pak-Indo gas pipeline project which fell through under its pressure ).

Re: Iran blames Pakistan for suicide bombing in Sistan-Baluchistan

This is false...

I have not heard any Iranian officials make any such remarks about Pakistan from inside Iran...

I do know several Iranians now hiding out in New York are absurd and useless propaganda.

Neither of your sources mentioned hold up to close scrutiny if I see anything more damning from a senior and officail Iranian diplomat or perhaps a man with an eye on defence matters, who actually knows what he is talking about then I might consider such news.

This news is nothing but Propaganda

Isn't the OP required to post his/her own remarks too?

Iran’s deputy interior minister says some local Pakistani officials have issued travel documents for terrorists involved in Wednesday’s deadly bombing attack.

“Terrorists get their travel documents from some local Pakistani officials,” Ali Abdollahi told IRNA, stressing that Tehran believed these officials were “connected” to the terrorists.

At least 33 people, including women and children, were killed and 83 others were wounded in an attack, which occurred at the Imam Hussein mosque in Chabahar on Wednesday.

People were commemorating the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam.

The terrorist group Jundallah has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Jundallah, a Pakistan-based terrorist group, has carried out numerous bombings, assassination attempts, and terrorist attacks in Iran.

Its leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in February 2010 and executed in June for 79 counts of crimes, including armed robbery, bombing operations and armed attacks on police and civilians.

“The confessions of Abdolmalek Rigi confirm that the base of these terrorists is in Pakistan,” the Iranian official said.

Abdollahi said terrorists are believed to receive training in Pakistan, criticizing Islamabad for ignoring Iran’s repeated calls to adopt proper security measure.

Chabahar Governor Ali Bateni announced on Wednesday that Iran’s security and civil forces had arrested one of the perpetrators of the attack.

The United Nations, the United States, Britain, France, Jordan and Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement have condemned the terrorist attacks.

A senior Iranian MP has called on Islamabad to step up anti-terror measures amid reports indicating Pakistani-trained elements were behind Iran’s Wednesday bombing.

“The Pakistani government must take a clear stance” on the terrorists, Kazem Jalali, the spokesman for the Parliament’s (Majlis) National Security and Foreign Policy, told IRNA on Thursday.

Jalali cited reports showing the involvement of elements trained in terrorist camps in Pakistan. He also recalled confessions by executed head of Jundallah terrorist group, Abdul Malik Rigi, who illustrated terrorist training the militants received in the neighboring country.
