Can you guys help me find this poem by Iqbal in urdu?
“Awaiting whom shall I reside in this land,
Who will be sleepless now on the late arrival of my letter,
Let my wailing reach the dust of her grave
Whom will I remember in my Fajr prayer?”
I need this poem in urdu so I can put it in a mothers day card to my fiances mother.
Majestic: I do not think it’s a good choice for this poem was written in the memory of his deceased mother. It’s about 9 and a quarter pages long in Baang-e-Dara. I have it but can’t type that all..
Besides, as I said it’s not something to give to an alive person; for example the lines you wrote are translated as:
Kiss ko abb ho gaa watan maiN aah! meraa intezaar? Kaun meraa khat naa aanaY saY rahaY gaa bay Qaraar? Khaak-e-Marqad par teri lay kar yeh faryaad aaooN gaa Abb duaa-e-Neem shub maiN kiss ko maiN yaad aaooN gaa?
Thanks, you know what I just found out that it is 9 pages long. And maybe I just got the two confused, he had another poem on MOTHERS, and that is the one I wanted. I guess I got them to mixed up. Thanks again
