I love this idea. Btw I think you should make the submission thread for the essays a moderated thread if you haven't already so people can't post things other than their submissions.

What inspires you about his work, or what his work means to you. Work could include his poetry or what he offered to the community in terms of his thought process, his perspectives, his vision for growth of the muslim community, his ideas for a new muslim state, etc.
