I am sure you know it. Allama Iqbal's language was much difficult in bang-y-dara but subjects were simple. And by the time goes by he bacame so much more mature and in zarby kaleem --words are so simple but subject/idea are mind blowing. As if he has the secret of life/death word I mean every thing. I have all of his udru book but in pakistan. Read them in grade 13-14.

I have his poem on my wall too. this one "ber ter ez andeesha y sood o ziaan hy zindgi kabhi jaan aur kabhi tasleem y jaan hy zindgi " my fav it "zindgany ki haqeeqat koh ken ky dil sy pooch joey sheer o tesha o sangy gara hy zingi" Beautiful.

look at the first line of the poem I posted:

khudi kaa sirr-e-NihaaN La Ilaaha Ill Allah
The secret bosom of the self respect is La Ilaaha Ill Allah

By the way, that Zindagi poem from Baang-e-Dara is completely posted in Poetry forum's thread :)

I had recorded it in my voice and had posted in the forums long time back as well :P

hawaa-e-seir misaal-e-naseem paida ker
hazaar chashmaa terey sang-e-rah se phoootay
khudi mein doob ker zarb-e-kaleem paida ker

I don't remember much ashaar but I love Iqbal's poetry.

yeah i hope so…though we are quite selective in who we consider our heroes.
some who have not contributed anything in practical terms are honoured to the status of saints. others who did quite alot of actual work are easily dismissed and history rewritten to paint a negative image of them.

I could have never thought of a day where I would have seen people having doubts about accepting Iqbal:rahm: as our national hero. khair, everyone is entitled for his/her own personal opinion…

For me, Iqbal always has been an inspiration … and for me he was a national hero who fought with his pen on all levels even against the Fitna that threatened the Ending of Prophethood on Prophet
