I think it is a fascinating stuff for cricket in India. This is how the NFL was formed back in the post WWII era. India has the fire in the belly to carry out such a humongous venture. I for one will be following it very closely.
I think other countries can only dream of launching projects of such magnitude. Only if the English were not so stuck up in tradition they had a golden opportunity to transform their county cricket.

TV rights were sold for 1 Billion USD (for 10 years).
That's huge.
But I wonder if the mixed teams will drum up the same kind of passion among Indians as in International Cricket and drive the TV ratings.

i ve same doubt.will the indian crowd which is the main paymaster of cricket(in loose terms) in india will be able to support tendulkar and ponting in same team with equal passion and enthusiasm?and in subcontinent cricket is about national pride,will ipl be able to change that into regional pride.and wat about the max. number of supporters of small towns and villages.whom they will support?national team over city team?

I guess Indian crowd will show up even if khambey (electric poles) play cricket supported with some advertisement ho-ha
