So if the visas were already given then what was the issue? The franchises just hypothesized that something might happen before the start of IPL 3 which will cause some political unstability and Pakistan cricketers will not travel to India????
And Mr. Modi Chairman of IPL and Vice President of BCCI says that he had no idea that franchise will not going to bid for Pakistani players. He is so masoom. Next he'll say that had he known he would have told franchises not to worry since all the Pakistani players already have got visas.
I think you should understand the Term Visa.
A Visa issued does not guarantee you an Entry into the Country for which the Visa is issued.
A Visa only acknowledges the fact that the Documents presented are Genuine. Of course there are many Fake Passports as there are Fake Visas.
In addition, I believe, the Visas issued to the Pakistani Visitors to India are only for the Purpose of the Visit – in this case to participate in the Auction. The Visa issued does not guarantee Employment. Strictly speaking after the completion of the Auction the Pakistani Players were technically not even allowed to spend another day in India.
After getting selected in the Auction the Employers have to apply to the Authorities for a Work Permit.
The above may not be 100% correct and I welcome correction from the better informed Members of this Forum.
