Re: IPL 5
I see Rameez is commentating this year. I think he had stayed away from the IPL since the time when Pak players stopped playing. I think.

Re: IPL 5
Finally a close game!
Besides Rohit Sharma’s last over heroics, check out Steyn’s crazy catch at 11:10, and his unplayable delivery right after that.
Re: IPL 5
Last 2 overs in todays match were a treat to watch
Morkel the butcher ![]()
Re: IPL 5
Poor Virat hahaha.. hes barely a part time bowler.. Vettori thought they had enough of a cushion to let him bowl one of the end overs.. he got totally butchered by Morkel!
Last 5 mins of this video is absolute mayhem!
Somebody just posted on my FB - “Virat Kohli’s new BBM pin 464626” ![]()
Re: IPL 5
was able to see only 1st half of post 22 highlights - was quite thrilling. Was happy to see Harbhajan drop a sitter - excuse given was the wind. Who won that game?
Might catch Chennai kings vs Poona warriors. Heard Dada is struggling on the field.

Re: IPL 5
this season ipl has been interesting compare to previous boring ipl editions
Re: IPL 5
KP is on FIRE!! Every game. I've never enjoyed watching him bat so much. Part of it is probably cuz hes playing for my team DD! haha.
Re: IPL 5
DADA got tired of his bowlers being spanked around by Sehwag and KP.. brought himself on.. clean bowled KP first ball!! :O
Re: IPL 5
This IPL is one long drawn out tournament
76 games spread over 54 days!!
Fixtures, Schedule | Indian Premier League 2012 | ESPN Cricinfo
Any reason why Deccan Chargers (2009 winners) have lost every single game so far? Mumbai Indians are struggling as well
Re: IPL 5
bad captaincy and bad uniform.
looks . like everyone wants to be blue in IPL.
Re: IPL 5
Probably saying the obvious but I think the winner will come from Delhi Daredevils (team looks strong on paper) or Chennai Super Kings (can they achieve a hat-trick of wins?)
KKR and RR also looking good
Re: IPL 5

ya wtf is going on there? the pune warriors had a sexy black jersey last year and they switched to blue.. delhi had black and red in the first IPL and they switched to blue and red right after. all the teams are just some mix and shade of blue red and GOLD!! + CSK's shiny yellow.
Need some black and green!
Re: IPL 5
It’s not a tournament! It’s a league! haha. Hence the quantity of games. Almost all my cricket fan friends are still watching the IPL. but we have become selected and are following only our team + 1-2 other teams every now and then that we like + watch highlights of any other game where crazy stuff happened. It’s a bit like NHL fans.
My problem isnt the length, but its the same complaint I have about the WC! You play for so many days and then it comes down to just a few hours.. the “on the day” luck factor is even higher here given its T20. Teams play 14 games before the SF/Final stage.. and then they can eliminated due to just half hour of some player going nuts! BEST OF 3 PLEASE!
Re: IPL 5
It is not even a proper league format!!
A league format comprising 9 teams equals 36 games (8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1)
It seems that each IPL team is playing every other team **twice
**i.e. 36 x 2 = 72 games + 4 KO games (76 games altogether)
It will be better to have one more team and then split the 10 teams into two groups of 5 each, have a league format within each group with the top 2 teams from each group reaching the semis
or
If you don't want groups, then have fewer teams say a max. of 6. Nine teams is just too many IMO
And yes the final should be a best of three contest

bhai the format changes every year
last year they had 10 teams, and it was split into two groups.. but then they still had teams playing teams in the other group, just not as often as teams in the same group.. something like that.. haha.
kochi's team got axed this year.. political nonsense.
ya i would have them play each other only once instead of twice

Well... you assumed that in a league team play each other only once. Generally they play each other twice ( home and away). So in that respect IPL is a league.
PS: I do not like this many games in IPL. Just trying to explain here.
Re: IPL 5
Sehwag and Jayawardene batting together, and batting well! Loving it!
Jayawardene vs Malinga
Sehwag vs Harbhajan
