So I have been having this debate with my husband, I had Samsung galaxy S and I am recommending him Galaxy S II but to him is a big NO. 
He wants i phone S with “Sirri” paye 
yes I call it siri paye and he is all into I phone. But I want people reviews for both phones.

I haven’t used Samsung Galaxy, but I have friends who have android phones (EVO 4G). Their biggest complaint about android is the memory leaks, and the amount of CPU/Memory the tasks running in background hog. They find themselves constantly shutting down processes to save battery, cpu, memory.
Iphone does not seem to have that issue. My opinion is obviously going to be biased because I’ve only ever used iphones from 3G/3GS and now 4 since it first came out. 4S has a better processor, better graphics chips, and better cameras and of course siri. But android have already had a feature similar to siri, Android calls it Voice Actions I think.
Bottom line, it’s about preference and overall cost of the phone+voice/data plan. I find AT&T to be on the expensive side as far as plans and data is concerned, but their customer service is really good. I’ve always had a very good experience with ATT Customer service. Apple customer service is just as good. I’ve had my phone replaced once before its warranty with apple expired. It took a whole of 15 mins, and I was out of there with a new phone.

Well, I have an iPhone 3Gs. The phone and apps are awesome. Camera sucks.
The 4 is brilliant. Only thing is if you have Tmobile for instance, and you have their big SIM card, you better cut it well to fit in :D!
Can’t say much about the Samsung. No experience.

Nope, some are smaller…my bro had to cut his when he switched from galaxy to iphone.
The only concern I would have about S II is its HUGE…i think the S I is big enough.

I never knew that . . . I think if you ask the telecom company then they should be able to provide you with mini SIM card . . . isn’t it ?

Oh yea I’m sure they would but most place charge you money for switching phones (because OMG they have to give you a new sim and put it in the new phone) so people just cut it and put it in their new phone

I went from GSM to a Galaxy and they charged me $20 on my next phone bill (I’m pretty sure I also paid $5 for the sim at the store). I always call to get this fee waived because it ridiculous.

or if you can wait, buy a sim card cutter for $6 from Amazon but it will take few days to arrive.
UZ, whether people like it or not, Iphone sets the standard and rest follow. I would go with 4S. You cant beat Siri and 4S when it comes to voice recognition. Its not just the software but 4S hardware is built for voice recognition. Plus siri is more of an Artificial intelligence feature than just a voice recognition tool.
Also you just cant beat the resale value of an Iphone. You buy it, enjoy it for long and then when you are ready to sell it, chances are that you are going to get within $100 of what you paid for it. Apple devices hold upto 60-75% of their value. You cant get that with any other gadget.
Then apps. When it comes to apps, no one can beat iOS. Andorid + blackberry + Windows dont have as many combined that iOS has alone.
and dont forget the hardware interaction. The way apple products talk to each other, like if you have Apple TV - you can airplay your iphone 4s content on your hdtv - your Samsung cant do that.

although i do agree with teggy, i have to watch my battery sometimes. but i downloaded this easy saver app which closes down unwanted running apps and control the ones you’re using. it’s pretty cool.

Basically there is no difference for an average user between the iphone 4 and samsung i9100 both do the same thing… apple we designing the iphone 5 and realised that samsung had wiped the floor with the new samsung i9100 so decided to release the iphone 4s which only included some of what they were designing for the iphone 5 out of desperatism…
Apple has tried to apply as many patents on Samsung as possible lol

I went from an iPhone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy SII and can’t imagine going back (I haven’t used the iPhone 4s tho)..
For me the main plus points were that the Galaxy SII screen seemed more impressive when side by side with the iPhone 4 (but prob too large for some ppl) and that you aren’t ‘tied’ to market only apps.. I can do a million things I would have had to pay for on my iPhone at no cost at all.. It’s brilliant 
The main downside is the battery life.. I need to charge mine every single night.. even when only lightly used.. My iPhone didn’t need anywhere near as much charging and was also quicker to charge when it did need to be plugged in.. Apple does hold its value but the Galaxy SII does well in that respect too..

I don’t have the S II, but I have the samsung galaxy nexus, and hubby has iphone.
The samsung battery drains quickly, but I’ve never had to charge it more than once a day for normal usage. It will last you about a day and a half if you use it to make occasional calls, browsing, email etc .. nothing too heavy though.
That is my only peeve with the nexus.. iPhone on the other hand takes FOREVER to sync music from our laptop. Hubby and I hate hate hate iTunes and he cannot wait to give up his iPhone and get a droid instead. The concept of being tethered to a computer whenever I need to manage my music, pictures or whatnot drives me nuts.
With the nexus, transferring music is a breeze - just copy paste and you’re done. Also with droids in general I love how all my contacts are backed up to gmail. So I can edit any contact through gmail contacts, and voila, it syncs with my phone automatically. No more lost contacts!
