Don’t click on iTunes store. When you have iTunes open and attach your iPhone to your computer using the cable it will show up in iTunes as a connected device. Click on it and it will give you the option of upgrading your phone.
But as I said previously it will upgrade to the 6.0 version which is going to make your phone very unusable. And not to mention that the phone won’t be jailbroken. If you are on AT&T then you don’t have to worry abot the last part.
iPhone 3gs still has an ok market. It should sell for about $150 on ebay.
