So apparently iphone 5 is going to come out sometime later this year (oct). Didn’t 4S just come out less then a year ago? So how is iphone 5 suppose to be different and why does apple release new versions so fast?

The screen will definitely have to be bigger. And It’s likely going to be.
Because 4S just came out very recently, the earlier rumor of it being announced in summer may be pushed back to fall to extract the most amount of sales from 4S. 
Those wiley Apple Execs!!!
But to keep up with the market, especially google and samsung, Apple has to keep up the ante to stay a step ahead in the smartphone game. Technology gets outdated a day after your purchase it.

Damn it moves too fast for me. Although I do see what Apple is thinking but it just seems there is never room to breathe. In a matter of just a few years smart phones have changed a lot!
The big screen is definitely a good move because I always felt iphone screen was too small especially because I am used to the Galaxy SI. I hope its not too big though because Glaxay SII is HUGE!
If and when I do purchase a new phone it will definitely be an iphone and not an android.

There are rumors that iphone 5 is the last project Steve Jobs worked on so anticipating a sleek phone and more importantly, an improved one!

Maybe its just me but I feel its slower then the iphone. I guess I have the SI and its getting worn out :( I should just invest in a new eh?

I can guarantee you that Iphone 5 will be somewhat the same screen size as older iphones. Apple has found the sweet spot when it comes to screen size and anything bigger than that feels awkward in your hands (especially in female customers hand, and iphone has a huge penetration in that market segment).

I wouldn't mind if it was slightly bigger but yes should be smaller then SII about the size of SI is what I prefer.

Cdg, I say go for the iPhone. I got the 4S recently and I tell ya it's awesome. I don't think 5 will be too much bigger. Lighter hopefully. I'd have to buy new jeans with bigger pockets then :(.

The new design of iphone would be of a open hand (laanat style). so you can show people the phone instead of flipping them off :p (no, i have no idea where that came from) :)
