Steve Jobs officially announed it today. They are calling it iPhone 4, as oppsed to iPhone 4g or 4gs.
OS is being called iOS. Not sure how it’s going to play out with Cisco.
will go on sale with AT&T in US starting June 24th. Think imma upgrade

Anyway, what i said was - i have an iPhone…is it worth me upgrading?? 
From what i understand:

multi-tier or “pay-per-byte” is only for new customers, which there will plenty since both ipad and now iphone 4 will be in the market. I wont fall in that category since im an existing customer.

according to ATT’s own research only 2% of the their customers use more than 1 GB bandwidth per month (source NPR news). These are the folks who download the whole sitcom shows on their iphone and watch it or download podcast or possibly run and maintain their website or blog or server from their iphone. I again dont fall in this category. I dont mind paying $30/month for the data service plan, which i already am paying.
So this multi-tier pricing is going to weed out those network hoggers who are somewhat abusing the system. Will it make ATT’s 3G network any better for the rest of us remains to be seen.

Basically if you have first or 2nd generation iphone, then you def want to upgrade. The full capabilities of the new OS are only harnessed in the newer (3rd and 4th) generation iphones.

I can start listing things here too. But there's just no comparison.
I have a first generation android G1.
It is running androids latest and greatest 2.1 software…and guess what theres chances it will even run the next update, froyo. Even gingerbread!
Making 1st 2nd gen users update, just so they can have a few extra features is a slap in the face in my opinion!
Id rather have my frozen yoghurt then my fruit!

^^ I am using HTC since 2006 and is old user of Windows movile But MS has POOOOOOOOR marketing techniques.
Also MS apps are not getting huge development as of Google or Apple.

as a developer with experience and apps on iphone store and android store i can say that Winphone 7 is light years ahead of android and iphone in terms of developer experience and ease of development. But whether its successful or not is another story
Also remember, apple was dying three years ago, the markets now changes in 2-3 years, not in decades as was the case with Desktops, iphone and android could be dead 5-6 years from now, you never know
and there is also another challenger in this game, i will not talk about that. since you guys are not technical enough for that

Haan haan, technology tho tum tak aa kar khatam ho jaati hai.
With technology you have to keep reinventing the use of it. Maana ke iphone was in dead waters when it came out but then it go rejuvinated by the iTunes store. So everything got turned around.
Google is doing the same. They actually build the app store along with their OS. Microsoft had really good products. Tablet PCs, UMPC’s (we used to discuss these 5 yrs ago) and their Windows Mobile platform.
Now they are starting to catch up to stuff that Apple came out with 3 yrs ago and Google came out with 1.5 yrs ago and you’re saying MS is creating something new? Shame on your Jhoom.
As for death, these days of technology has shortened the lives quite a bit. Where do you think Apple would be if Jobs decides to quit tomorrow?
I am talking about silverlight, which started life in 2007, when iphone and android were not even born. ( atleast not android, iphone was 7 yrs in making )
Google will eventually displace Apple, but I dont know what will happen after that.
Google might be the new MS. Apple throne is short lived.

Silverlight was not what it is today. That technology came out to compete (somewhat) with Shockwave/Flash at the time. Later it evolved but we’re not talking about that. It was a multimedia era at that time where everyone wanted to get things playing in front of your eyes.
These days its all about 3d video. Go figure!

3rd I have used Windows Phone 7
4th A great Os is that allow you to have upgrade on the old handsets too.
5th Windows Phone 7 has somehow different Application back end and so the old application supporting Windows 6.5 or older will not have 100% compatibility with Windows Phone 7!

i have written apps for win phone 7, i hope u remember last week ms was inviting developers and sending them devices .. aaaho as in punjabi.
