As I am a University student, I want to get an Ipad or a galaxy tab. The main purpose of buying this will be to read my lecture slides or do coding in few softwares. I don’t know if I should get an iPad 2 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab . Which one should I get and why?

the only tablet you need is a paracetamol for the pain from the slap i give you and send you off to do your coding homework on a desktop like everyone else.

Can you run IDEs, RDBMS, and VMs on these devices? Can you write down searchable, organizable, lecture notes using a pen on these devices? Can you record lectures? Can it run the slides using the software your university uses?
You should buy the tablet that answers such questions. That's my opinion.

The best reason a student can get a tablet is to write down searchable notes as you record lectures. You can take out traditional books and with a cloud app you can send the notes to all your devices.

The best reason a student can get a tablet is to write down searchable notes as you record lectures. You can take out traditional books and with a cloud app you can send the notes to all your devices.
The lecturer uploads the recoded lectures online. I don't read books at my course much , it is practical work and most of the information is available online.

Trust me we all understood. We just trying to understand why u the student be spending so much moolah when u already have a fully functional laptop. I think the Android tablet would serve your needs better. (This is coming from someone who has 0 experience in programming but given how irritating iTunes is, I think it will try to control your VMs instead of letting u do any work).

It is because I have zero interest in phones,I like laptops more. So Ipad 'll be a better choice to get then?

what software programming will you be doing on a tablet? how are you going to enter lines of code? using a facial expression reader? even those who develop for tablets do that stuff on a regular komputtar.
if you want a tablet to take pics of yourself and watch youtube videos of dancing bears, that is diffrant baat.
