Inzi vs Sachin - no match

Re: Inzi vs Sachin - no match

I think this impression of Sachin being a choker is not strictly true. He often opens for India and they have lost several one-day games in which he has scored hundreds. Inzi on the other hand comes at 3-down and is often there till the end to guide us thru. I think it has more to do with the team. The fact is that India’s seam bowling has never been good enough to consistently win them matches abroad. So no matter what Sachin does, I believe India will still lose most of the games. I am pretty sure people would have had the same impression of Inzi and Ponting if they were playing for India.

Plus don’t forget that Sachin has the most man of the match awards in ODIs (52 in 374 games i.e. a MOM every 6-7 games cf. Viv Richards) under his belt.

28 of Sachin’s 40 hundreds have contributed to victory.

Sachin has been in indifferent form for 3-4 years and it would be fair to say that Ponting is currently the best batsman in the world. Not only Ponting but also Inzi, Lara, Yousuf, Dravid and Kallis have overshadowed Sachin during the past 3-4 years.
