Imran Khan's maternal ancestors may hail from Waziristan but he has lived most of his life in Lahore and speaks urdu (and English occ.) with a Punjabi accent. I don't think he can speak or understand even basic pushto. So most people in Pakistan consider him to be a Punjabi. He's actually quite fluent in Punjabi. I once saw him speak pure Punjabi with a farmer on a BBC programme about his Hospital in 1995.

He speaks Punjabi fluently, I have even met him in person. I was just “teasing”
