I wanted to have an insert in my barat card which was a ‘message from the bride’, thanking my family for all their support etc and that i will miss them dearly. Got the idea from a card I saw but have misplaced the message she had in there as it was amazing. Anyone seen anything similar and can give me an idea of what to say?

how about something lke this to start with...
"I would like to thank my family, my friends, and especially my parents for all their love and support over the years. I will miss you all so much."
hrm, this is a bit tough... i dunno how to end it and it needs a little bit more...

awwwwwwwwwwwww thanks, im the first one getting married so its going to be a teary affair, especially as my father passed away when i was young, times like these u really miss them xXx

This is going to be in my barat invites, going lahore in two weeks so hoping to get an invite with 3 inserts, first message from bride, mehndi card and then barat. Husband to be is doing the same with message from the groom. its a nice touch i think. but i dont want ppl to think the message is too OTT! what u think?

What a wonderful idea!! It really personalizes the wedding and will give attendees more of a connection to you. Too often, desis are invited to weddings without knowing anything about the bride or the groom. This will make it special both for you and your family as well as the attendees.

I think that's lovely. I didn't do something quite as sentimental, but it was sort of similar. My wedding was in Pakistan and I knew that a lot of close friends and family wouldn't be able to make it, so I sent a note with the invitations that thanked all those that could but also acknowledged those people who were important to me who would be missed. I do like the note to parents, though I only moved ten minutes away, so I was hardly leaving them. :D

i got my cards from japan cards on mayo hospital road, just got back and the message looks fab in the card. will try uploading them some time.
