My father is looking to a profitable yearly income within Pakistan with an investment like a shop or hotel.

well ur father can invest into commercial property ,can build shops or shopping plaza and sublease it, becoz its safe, property is booming right now in pakistan especially commercial if its at a very busy spot or big city popular spots.I dont reside in Pakistan but just helping you to share ideas, coz we are planning to invest in some business too.
I know now days the situation is really critical, you guys can workout a plan but wait for practical implication till the environment turns out to be safe .

Wait and see what happen after the elections. Generally, investment opportunities in Pakistan are good, but current political scenario spoiling everything. Your investment concentration should be in Telecoms, Financial companies & Real Estate.

When dealing with property you need to be patient, espcially if you're buying a plot in any government scheme.
My parents have invested in a few plots since the 1980s in E-12. Between 1999 and 2005 the prices sky rocketed 500% - then the stupid earth quake happened. Even now, 20 years after the land was allocated there has been no permission to build anything from the government.
