If you mean reverse sweep or shot then, it was actually Javed Miandad who invented that shot during late 80s. Other batsmen just followed suit.

I am sure reverse sweep was played by many batsmen before Miandad such as Sobers. Javed was certainly deft at it.
And switch-hit is not the same as reverse sweep (played against spinners or slow bowlers)

Actually, a little correction on my part, reverse sweep was regularly played by Mushtaq Muhammad during the '70s, however, his elder brother Hanif Muhammad is reported to be the inventor of reverse sweep shot.
So, switch hit is you hit the ball by flipping the bat and play the shot from the flipped side?

I think you are referring to Jay Suriya in 1996 WC as the pinch hitter. But if you remember Mark Greatbatch in 1992 WC, he originally started hitting right from the first ball. So technically I would call him the inventor.

I know you are a die-hard PML-N supporter but that doesn’t mean you start making baseless allegations against IK. The one thing you can never accuse Imran and Miandad of is corruption or selling their country. Those guys had integrity. They were never implicated in betting or fixing of any kind. Once when Imran found out that certain players were in touch with bookies in Sharjah, in order to curb this menace he placed a bet on the team that if Pakistan lost the match then all the players would lose their match fee..
Bani-e-sattay bazi is either Saleem Malik or Wasim Akram (sad but true. read Justice Qayyum report). Imran and Miandad’s names were NEVER mentioned in the report.
I am not a blind supporter of Imran, do not agree with his stance on Taliban, have no appetite for dharnas but I absolutely support his stand against corruption and nepotism.
ALL 5 Supreme Court judges said that NS is a thief; two categorically said he should be disqualified, 3 said he is corrupt but we need more proof, hence Supreme Court directed JIT. so how is that victory for NS? Why have beef with IK on this?
At least give IK credit that for the first time in our history crooked politicians and those in power are being held to some kind of accountability. And I would support accountability of corrupt military officers as well.
If you are a Kashmiri or from business community (taajir biradri) or have benefited from Sharif baradran in anyway then you would blindly support PML-N, if you are a jiyala you will not stop worshipping the Bhuttos (though I respect ZAB), if you are from certain parts of urban Sindh you will not stop supporting MQM. This is our nation’s biggest ulmiya..

Well I am not saying this as a PMLN supporter as politics has nothing to do with this topic. However, its a known fact that it was imran who started betting in Pakistan cricket during 80s. Not only that he started betting but he was also pioneer in ball tampering. Imran is not what a lot of us made him to be… for reference
