This is common knowledge, when we on this forum have been emphasising this since long it’s strange that the American president has come to the conclusion after so much bloodshed and chaos. All of the crisis in the Middle East and South Asia can be attributed to US foreign policies.
US policies were fertilizer to whatever crappy weeds were already growing around there. Its not like US came up with the idea of shias and sunnis hating each others guts or wahabism or violent jihadis.
U.S. created a political vaccuum where these groups grew. Before 79 they were localised irritants. The much touted shock and awe and similar operations through out the muslim world have given the terrorists a perfect recruiting tool.
79? In that case lets not forget much of the muslim countries were allies of the US in all their wars, and should share teh blame equally instead of this shirking of blame onto the US.

So you accept equal blame for the US for OBL, the Taliban, Al Qaeda and the longevity of the Saudi Royal Family and Wahabism?

we do condemn our rulers for siding with the U.S. in these futile wars which have brought nothing but destruction for us. On the other hand it's the U.S. which shirks it's responsibility and blames the muslim countries for their plight..blame the victims.
yes isis as we know it orginated in iraq after the invasion; where certain groups/insividuals were intent in fighting the foreign invaders were arrested and sent to camp bucca.. Thats where they met like minded people and where baghdado was well known and respected by his jailers. The group flourised under thier nose.
Then they were then released in to the community..(why that happened.. we are not sure) where they regrouped immediately to from isis. Some of the rebels trained and armed by the west in jordan /turkey also decided to join them.
So to put it mildly; those weeds who otherwise would have been stomped on were watered . fed and protected to become the crazies they are today. That would have been impossible without the support they recieved.
Whats even more galling is obama then using it as a barter.. ’ we will fight isis if maliki steps down if iran does so an so..’ like atleast clean up your own crap..?
Still leave it to qasim suleimani to step up when the americans step back. :k:

first of all, you are responsible for your leaders.
US blames muslim countries for generating jihadis, ignores that it used these people as allies and armed them. muslim countries forget they used the US to further their small-minded agendas - mostly one-upping their muslim and non-muslim neighbors.
at the end of the day, the muslim countries have everything to lose. US is isolated geographically and ideologically to a large extent. so if you want to start blaming causes, blame the ones that will have maximum impact. blaming the US is only stoking the jihadi cause.
Well the interconnected web and the globe is making sure that the US is feeling side effects as well. Of course, it isn't like the toll in middle east and surrounding area.
Of course, the solution also lies in being a grown up and walking away from bad US policies. We need more of that in our world

thanks to the geo political situation of the past three decades the situation has become complex, really complex...not that its any safe for the US...the situation has changed in a sense that now any one can stand up and commit an act of terrorism using the name of ISIS or some other terrorist group...thanks to the wars in Iraq and Syria, there are many trained people out there.
McMahon’s promises were seen by the Arabs as a formal agreement between them and the United Kingdom. Lloyd George and Arthur Balfour represented the agreement as a treaty during the post war deliberations of the Council of Four. On this understanding the Arabs established a military force under the command of Hussein’s son Faisal which fought, with inspiration from ‘Lawrence of Arabia’, against the Ottoman Empire during the Arab Revolt.[SUP][5]](McMahon–Hussein correspondence - Wikipedia)[/SUP] In an intelligence memo written in January 1916 Lawrence described the Arab Revolt as
beneficial to us, because it marches with our immediate aims, the break up of the Islamic ‘bloc’ and the defeat and disruption of the Ottoman Empire, and because the states [Sharif Hussein] would set up to succeed the Turks would be … harmless to ourselves … The Arabs are even less stable than the Turks. If properly handled they would remain in a state of political mosaic, a tissue of small jealous principalities incapable of cohesion (emphasis in original).[SUP][11]](McMahon–Hussein correspondence - Wikipedia)[/SUP]
